Bizy Tech Limited, in collaboration with AETS and the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) with support from the European Union (EU), has officially launched the Digital Coffee Farm Registration initiative in the Songwe and Kagera regions.

Implemented under the KilimoSoko | Mazingira Project, this initiative aims to align Tanzania’s coffee production with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The project seeks to ensure that Tanzanian coffee remains traceable, sustainable, and fully compliant with international market standards opening doors to premium export opportunities.

Through this engagement Bizy Tech has been entrusted to lead the digital registration of coffee farms transforming how coffee data is captured, verified, and managed across the country.

Using the Coffee Profiling Tool, farmers’ details are securely recorded, including:

·        Personal information (name, phone number, ID number, photo, etc.)

·        Farm coordinates (GPS location)

·        Farm size and number of trees

·        Types of crops grown

·        Inputs and tools used

·        Farming practices

Each registered farmer receives a Kadi Janja a smart ID that provides convenient access to financial services, insurance and agricultural inputs inclusion, efficiency, and productivity within the value chain.

To ensure successful implementation Bizy Tech together with AETS and TCB has conducted training sessions for farmers and enumerators on EUDR compliance and digital farm registration.

The launch events and field activities in Songwe and Kagera were met with great enthusiasm. Farmers expressed excitement about embracing digital tools and accessing European coffee markets that offer better returns, reliable buyers, and long-term sustainability.

With accurate mapping, robust traceability systems and strong collaboration this project marks a significant milestone toward sustainability and transparency in Tanzania’s coffee value chain.

It reflects the shared commitment of Bizy Tech, AETS and TCB, under the support of the European Union to empower farmers, strengthen market competitiveness, and position Tanzania’s coffee sector for global success.

At Bizy Tech, we are proud to champion digital transformation in agriculture ensuring that no farmer is left behind as we build a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous future for Tanzania’s coffee industry.
